Kick-off of the European project DESIREE

Earlier this week, EIFHYTEC and its European partners started the DESIREE project. Supported by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership and co-funded by the European Union, DESIREE aims at developing and validating a more efficient, durable and cost-effective solid oxide electrolysis (SOEL) system for scalable renewable hydrogen production. The project includes partners from Spain, Germany, Finland, Italy, Belgium and France, and is coordinated by the Spanish R&D institution “Centro Nacional de Energías Renovables” (CENER). In the frame of DESIREE, a thermochemical compressor developed by EIFHYTEC will be coupled to a SOEC electrolyser to improve the overall efficiency of hydrogen production & compression.
